Gazda ceremoniei Oscarurilor, Jimmy Kimmel, a început seara glumind că a primit garanţii din partea PricewaterhouseCoopers că în această ediţie a galei Oscarurilor nu vor mai fi încurcate plicurile cu câştigătorii, dar totuşi le-a atras atenţia nominalizaţilor să nu se ridice imediat de pe scaun după ce îşi aud numele. În ceea ce priveşte gafa de anul trecut, el a spus că a fost un număr de comedie al contabililor.
Prezentatorul a făcut tranziţia către scandalul Weinstein glumind despre statueta numită Oscar. “Oscar este bărbatul cel mai respectat şi iubit de la Hollywood. Şi există un bun motiv: priviţi-l. Îşi ţine mâinile la vedere, nu spune niciodată un cuvânt vulgar şi, cel mai important lucru, nu are deloc penis”, a spus el.
“Este o statuetă a limitărilor. Este nevoie de mai mulţi bărbaţi ca el la Hollywood”, a subliniat el, precizând că cinema-ul trebuit să dea exemplu în materie de hărţuire şi de egalitate între bărbaţi şi femei la locul de muncă, transmite Agerpres.
Kimmel a glumit pe tema scandalului sexual de la Hollywood şi printr-o referire la filmul “The Shape of Water”, care conduce în topul nominalizărilor cu şanse la 13 premii.
“Ne vom aminti mereu de acest an drept anul în care bărbaţii au eşuat atât de tare că femeile au început să se întâlnească cu peşti”, a spus prezentatorul.
